CASTLEKNOCK

The client here requested a family space that made the most of the north-westerly orientation.

Large frameless roof lights let the sun in as it climbs over the house during the day. By placing the roof lights along the new rear wall, the sun comes in as early as possible. This location also creates a large expanse of white wall that reflects the sunlight back into the space.

An open plan kitchen with an extended Corian island top, segregates the space into kitchen, dining and sitting, while creating a sociable island seating area. A continuation of the kitchen presses houses a utility cupboard and boiler.

Externally light grey windows and doors match the new membrane roof, gutter and drainpipes.

“We found Carol to be very thorough and knowledgeable. She is a great listener and discussed all of our ideas in detail. She likes to get a feel for who the client is and their specific needs and then draws up designs based on that. Overall, we are extremely happy with the end result.”
