The client here required a large open plan family area that incorporated 2 existing rear extensions. Any addition had to make the most of the south facing orientation and views to the garden.

A pavilion that stretched the length of the house was devised. The long extension is level with the house; matching the high floor to ceiling that exists. A line of roof lights along the extension roof gives a sun room feel; raised over the garden the addition benefits from increased light. A part garage conversion accommodates a large utility and storage area.

The rear garden slopes dramatically from the house so steps were incorporated at the entry exit; stretching the length of the tall glazing these can also be used for seating or for additional planting.

“We were very happy with Carol. There was personal attention right from the start of the project and the attention to detail was second to none. It was great to have her on the ground liaising with the builders so we could realise our dream! As a result, we were delighted with the end result. Finally, we would have no problem whatsoever in recommending CR Architecture.”
