WAINSFORT PARK

The client here required a full house renovation with an open plan arrangement of sitting, eating and kitchen.

An addition that matches with the existing attractive character on the road was devised. Maintenance free red brick, with plinths and banding, mimic how the the materials are at the front of the house. A chunky window frame breaks up the wall of glass to the garden.

The extension continues the existing tall floor to ceiling levels. A large utility and storage area are tucked away behind the study and new kitchen.

In order to incorporate a separate shower in the new bathroom, the hot press cylinder was brought to the ground floor utility area. An invisible cupboard with small radiator and shelving, creates a “hot press” here. Painted the same colour as the landing walls; it removes the need for another full door on the landing space.
